Welcome to Letters I Never Sent
Hi Love, I’m Trina.
A thirty-plus Londoner, born and raised, with roots stretching across the Caribbean.
My career has taken many unexpected turns. I spent a decade working in television production before co-founding an online platform celebrating Black beauty and natural hair in the UK. Later, I found myself travelling the world, teaching dance, building communities, and helping women reconnect with confidence through movement.
For the last eight years, I’ve been known as “The Body Confidence Girl.”
I built a movement that reached thousands of women. My face appeared on several billboards across London. I’ve shared stages with artists like Lizzo and Raye. I’ve worked with brands I once admired from afar, I was Nike’s poster girl, and even appeared in British Vogue campaigns.
From the outside, it looked like I had become exactly who I was meant to be.
But somewhere along the way, I stopped asking a very important question:
Who am I underneath all of it?
Turns out that’s the most important question I’ve ever had to answer.
So, I’m writing it all down here. Truth is, I’m not who I was. I’m not yet who I’m becoming. I’m somewhere in the middle, and these letters are what that in-between space actually looks like.
No glossy transformation story.
Just a woman being honest about the process of evolving into herself and sharing the unspoken painful confessions, thank-yous, and goodbyes that were never delivered.
Some letters heal. Some letters hurt. All of them tell the truth.
Thank you for being here. You’re welcome to read over my shoulder.
